Having read the recent articles about my sister Rosalind Lind’s candidacy for the school board I was inspired to say a few words on her behalf. While I must admit this is a bit personal for me, I think it is important for the public to know something of her quality and character. I have first-hand seen her commitment to education in the raising of her two children, both of whom are outstanding young professionals. While she and her husband, Charles, lived away from the area for a number of years she will bring great experience to this school board having been active in local government and many other civic organizations in other communities.
Being raised in this community and a graduate of Medina High School herself, about 10 years ago Rosalind decided to return home to Medina. Since then she has taken a leadership role in forming a local chapter of the League of Women Voters. As a member of the local office of the Red Cross she went south to aid those who were victims of the Katrina disaster. Rosalind has great family values and takes a keen interest in the development of her nieces and nephew who attend the Medina school system. Her experience in handling governmental financial matters, in running businesses and her sense of fiscal responsibility will serve the taxpayers well.
I am confident that Rosalind’s frankness and maturity coupled with her education and experience makes her most qualified.
