READER LETTER: A thank you to Thiel benefit contributors

The Journal-Register

The spaghetti dinner benefit for Alicia Thiel Tuesday evening was a huge success. At the end of the evening, we cleared over $6,000 from 625 spaghetti dinner tickets, the basket raffle, the Team Alicia T-shirts, chip sales and donations.

Thank you everyone — without you this would not have been possible. We did good!

Thank you to all the wonderful people that worked so hard to make this dinner a success. I’m afraid to start listing names in fear of forgetting anyone. Everyone just pitched in and we had fun working together. Your help was much appreciated. Thank you one and all.

Your basket donations were amazing: 62 items to choose from! Thank you to everyone that dropped off a basket or item for our raffle.

Thank you to all the local businesses that let us place donation buckets in your stores and restaurants. Our buckets overflowed. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone that passed out flyers or sold tickets. Your hard work paid off — 625 dinners! Ron Vendetti and Ed Salvatore (our head chefs) said that was their new record. And they’ve cooked for a lot of spaghetti dinners together. Thank you sellers and promoters.

Thank you cooks. Wow you people are unbelievable to put out so many quality dinners. Mmm good.

Thank you businesses for food donations and discounts: Rinaldi’s Restaurant, Tops, Pawlaks, Uncle Sal’s, Tim Hortons and the American Legion.

A special thank you to the County Jail kitchen crew for an outstanding clean up job. They stayed until the last drop of food was cleaned up.

Thank you to the many, many members of FastFitness for your amazing support and contributions throughout the entire planning process. FastFitness women rock! And their husbands too!

Family and friends, thank you for the incredible desserts. What a delight for the eye to behold. That was some spread.

Thank you final four who stayed until the last tile was mopped and the last unclaimed basket was carried to FastFitness at 10 p.m. You are irreplaceable.

Thank you “Team Alicia” players. I love you all.
