TASK FORCE: Investigation leads to numerous drug charges

An investigation by the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force led to numerous arrests in Albion and Medina last week.
Albion
According to Supervising Investigator Joseph Sacco, in the Village of Albion, a two-month investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana led to a search warrant at 22 West St. The Orleans County Task Force, Albion Police Department and Orleans Country Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit also searched a vehicle located in a parking lot at 167 South Main St. As a result of both, police arrested six people on numerous drug charges and seized an amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.
• Joshua W. Courtney, 20, of Rochester was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of fourth-degree conspiracy and two counts of first-degree criminal nuisance.
• Malcolm M. Inman, 21, of Rochester was charged with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession on a controlled substance and one count of fourth-degree conspiracy.
• Shunieka M. Williams, 18, of Kent was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of fourth-degree conspiracy.
• Tiffany M. Miller, 19, of Albion was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal nuisance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count fourth-degree criminal possession of marihuana and one count of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
• Michael A. Williams, 19, of Rochester was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal nuisance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and one count of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
• Ester C. Miller, 49, of Albion was charged with three counts of first-degree criminal nuisance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and one count of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Medina
According to Sacco, in the Village of Medina, a one-month investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine led to a search warrant at 108 Pearl St. Apt No. 2. Three people were arrested by the Orleans County Task Force, Medina Police Department and the Orleans County Sheriff’s K9 Unit.
• Kacene L. Alston, 25, of Medina was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of fourth-degree conspiracy, one count of first-degree criminal nuisance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and one count unlawful possession of marijuana.
• Melanie L. Macchia, 31, of Medina was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of fourth-degree conspiracy, one count of first-degree criminal nuisance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana.
• Stephanie M. Macchia, 31, of Medina was charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance, one count of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Medina Police Chief Jose Avila said that during the drug bust, a dog was found in the apartment. He said that it was taken for safekeeping by Animal Control because in cases such as this, the police department is not allowed to leave an animal alone. The dog was picked up by its proper owner soon after Animal Control took custody.
