ALBION — A former Medina man in custody at the Clinton County Correction Facility pleaded guilty to felony second-degree attempted burglary in Orleans County Court on Monday.

Ronald G. Taylor, 28, formerly of Fletcher Chapel Road, Medina, was originally charged with burglarizing four county homes July 3, 5 and 27, 2006. According to the district attorney’s office, he stole jewelry, money, a digital camera and documents.

During his plea, he admitted to breaking the front door of a Oak Orchard Road home July 3, 2006. He entered the home with the intent to steal items that did not belong to him, he said.

“(I) went in and took property,” he said.

Taylor faces up to seven years in state prison, said Orleans County Judge James Punch. As part of the plea bargain, any jail time as part of the sentence will run concurrently with his other felony charges.

Taylor may also be forced to pay restitution to the victims in the case for the stolen items.

Sentencing is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. July 21.

Prosecutors said 1.95 pounds of marijuana was found in his possession at the time of his Oct. 11 arrest.

The co-defendants in the case, Richard L. James, 34, and Lisa K. James, 31, pleaded guilty in April and are awaiting sentencing.

• Jonah S. Rehak, 20, Washington Street, Albion, was sentenced to nine months in the Orleans County Jail for violating probation.
