ALBION: Correction officer charged with rape

A correction officer was arrested Sunday for allegedly raping a female inmate at the Albion Correctional Facility.

Donald R. Lasker Jr., 38, 38 Fawnwood Drive, Williams-ville, was charged with third-degree rape and one count of official misconduct.

Lasker was charged following an investigation by the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Correctional Services, who said he had inappropriate sexual contact with the inmate.

Lasker has been working in Albion since November 2004, according to Linda Foglia, a state spokesperson.

“Our agency has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this type of activity and we will support criminal prosecution,” she said. “We expect to suspend him without pay.”
