ALBION: Mayor arrested on charges of petit larceny, official misconduct

Staff Reports
The Journal-Register

Albion Mayor Michael A. Hadick was charged Friday with petit larceny and official misconduct, both misdemeanors, after an investigation of village finances, state police said.

Hadick, 39, was accused of failing to turn over the proceeds of a fundraiser to the Village of Albion, according to a news release.

The fundraiser was held to defray the costs of a fireworks production that took place during the village’s July 4 celebration, state police said.

The value of the funds in question was less than $1,000.

The state police investigation was conducted at the request of Orleans County District Attorney Joseph Cardone.

Hadick voluntarily surrendered to state police Friday, according to reports.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is due Wednesday in Albion Village Court.
