Medina Journal-Register — ALBION — The Orleans County Major Felony Crimes Task Force seized more than two dozen bags of crack cocaine after the drugs were nearly ingested by a Rochester man now in custody.
The Task Force and Albion Police conducted a vehicle stop Thursday as part of a month-long investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine in the Village of Albion. According to the report, Tyriek A. Johnson, the vehicle’s driver, was arrested after attempting to swallow 26 drug baggies.
Johnson, 25, 35 Crerand Circle, Rochester was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
In addition to the drugs, the Task Force seized more than $500 in cash.
Johnson was arraigned in Town of Albion Court, where Judge Gary Moore committed him to the County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. Johnson is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Town of Albion Court.
Task Force Supervising Investigator Joseph Sacco said the investigation is still ongoing and further charges and arrests are pending.
