Medina Journal-Register — ALBION – The Village Board of Albion held a public hearing Monday evening to present the 2013-2014 budget. The budget must be adopted by the end of the month.
Trustees discussed the budget briefly before agreeing to discuss it further at their next regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 10. At that time they will schedule a budget adoption meeting.
Currently the proposed village budget includes a 3.5 percent overall increase. The real property tax levy raised $2,359,604.05 this year. Projections are for it to raise $2,484,312.71 next year.
The village tax rate, which was $16.37 per $1,000 of assessed value this year, would move about to $17.29/$1,000 in next year’s budget should no changes be made.
