Orleans BOCES center inducts 16 into National Tech Honor Society

Medina Journal-Register — The Orleans/Niagara BOCES’ Orleans Career and Technical Education Center recently inducted 16 students into the National Technical Honor Society.

The students inducted included: Tyler Beecher (Barker - Culinary Arts), Brian Bentley (Albion - Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanics), Brianna Caldwell (Albion - Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanics), Brittany Clifford (Lockport - Cosmetology), Calee Coleman (Royalton-Hartland - Allied Health), Aloshia Dart (Lockport - Cosmetology), Devan Freeman (Medina - Precision Machine Technology), Kolbe Greenwald (Barker - Precision Machine Technology), David Oddi (Lockport - Security and Law Enforcement), Candace Orton (Lockport - Cosmetology), Roy Phipps (Royalton-Hartland - Allied Health), Michael Sauvageau (Royalton-Hartland - Graphic Communication), Kyle Shanahan (Albion - Allied Health), Garrett Van Lieshout (Royalton-Hartland - Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanics), Samantha Wendling (Medina - Allied Health), and Kaylynn Wik (Lockport - Health Occupations Technician).

Students are only awarded this honor if they maintain a 3.0 grade point average and have completed a set number of credit hours. They must also have excellent attendance and a good disciplinary record.

The inductees were recognized in front of their families, teachers, board of education members and home school district representatives at a ceremony at the center.
