Four charged in Orleans drug bust

Medina Journal-Register — A five-month long investigation conducted by the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force resulted in four arrests Monday in Albion. The investigation dealt with the sale and distribution of prescription narcotic pills in the Village of Albion.

The Task Force and the Albion Police Department executed a search warrant at 209 North Main St., where a mother, her two sons, and a fourth individual were charged with numerous counts of criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. The sons and the mother were selling hydrocodone and tramadol pills, which had been prescribed to the mother. A quantity of those pills were seized as a result of the warrant.

Facing charges are Theresa S. Nichols, 51, David Nichols, 28, and Joshua Nichols, 26, all of 209 North Main Street, Albion, and Serena L. Weber, 28, of 3039 East Shelby Road, Oakfield.

Theresa Nichols is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of fourth-degree conspiracy, and one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She also is charged with third-degree felony welfare fraud.

David Nichols is charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and one count apiece of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Joshua Nichols and Weber both face charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

All four suspects were arraigned in Albion Town Court. Theresa Nichols and David Nichols were both committed to the Orleans County Jail on no bail due to their previous criminal histories. Joshua Nichols was committed to the jail on $2,500 cash bail, and Weber was committed on $5,000 cash bail.

All four suspects are due to return to Albion Town Court at 2 p.m. today.
