Medina Journal-Register — Saturday’s Olde Tyme Christmas celebration in Medina featured several contests with many entries in each category.
The Fifth Annual Parade of Lights had 42 floats this year. The grand champion float was the one entered by Matt Mundion Construction.
Other winners in different float classes were the Orleans County YMCA (not-for-profit), Medina Methodist Church (religious), Medina Mustang Booster (service organization), Medina Fire Dept. (fire company), Robert’s Farm Market (business) and Medina Central School Transportation Dept. (others).
The Star Award winner for creativity went to the Orleans County Master Gardeners. The Littlest Elf Award, given to the float with the best design involving youth and adults, went to Orleans County town clerks. The Lyndonville Fire Company took home the prize for the Community Service Award as their float was judged to be the best community representation.
Winners from other contests held during the day have also been announced.
Benjamin Root was named the Cutest Little Elf. Jaelyn Castricone and Winry Tester placed second and third, respectively.
The window scavenger hunt saw Bobby Vidovich take home first place. Jonathan Becker took second, and Cindy Sands third.
The coloring contest winners were Saige Woodhams, Dakota Alexander and Nathan Sherman.
