Medina Journal-Register — RIDGEWAY — Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision early Friday on Route 104.
Kelly P. Bailey, 51, of Medina, was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after the 7:50 a.m. crash in the 11400 block of Ridge Road, east of Horan Road.
According to the Orleans County Sheriff's Office, Bailey's Jeep SUV was eastbound on Ridge when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound GMC pickup driven by Debra J. Albone-Gundrum.
After the initial collision, Bailey's vehicle ran off the north side of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its roof. Bailey was trapped in the wreckage for about 25 minutes before he was extricated by Ridgeway and Shelby volunteer firefighters
Bailey's front-seat passenger, James A. Groves, 43, of Medina, was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital by Medina Fire Department ambulance.
Albone-Gundram, 62, of Lyndonville, also was taken to Medina Memorial, the sheriff's office reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. According to Undersheriff Steven D. Smith, witnesses said Bailey's vehicle was moving erratically on the road before the collision.
