Medina Journal-Register — GO ART! seeks new artists
BATAVIA - The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council (GO ART!) is seeking artists interested in exhibiting their work in four galleries: Bank of Castile Main Gallery at
GO ART!, Seymour Place, 201 East Main Street, Batavia; Batavia Satellite Gallery in the Genesee County Senior Center, 2 Bank Street, Batavia; Albion Satellite Gallery in the GCC Albion Campus, 456 West Avenue (Route 31), Albion; and Medina Satellite Gallery in the Shirt Factory Café, 115 West Center Street, Medina.
Since 1977, GO ART! has served area artists by providing exhibit space for their work. Gallery exhibits are typically displayed for two months and feature visual art by local and regional artists. At this time, GO ART! has openings in all four galleries for 2013-14. There is no cost to apply or to exhibit.

Bindings Bookstore, Hoag Library hosting author
ALBION - Marilyn Smith Neilans, wife of Albion native John G. Neilans will be visiting Albion for two book signings in September.
Neilans is the author of the book “Saying Goodbye to the Iris Lady,” a work that takes an honest look at life in the middle phase. The book focuses on her own retirement, and how she was faced with caring for an aging parent.
Neilans will visit Hoag Library on 7 p.m. Sept. 4 and Bindings Bookstore at 1 p.m. Sept. 7.
