Medina Journal-Register — Orleans County Sheriff Scott Hess took time out of his Friday afternoon schedule to recognize a member of his staff who retired after more than 27 years of service as a Public Safety Dispatcher.
Wayne W. Litchfield joined the Sheriff’s Office as a PSD on Jan. 2, 1986 under then-Sheriff David M. Green. At that time, the Dispatch Office was in the County Jail. In 1998, county communications moved to its current home in the Public Safety Building, and became the 9-1-1 Center.
On Friday, Hess presented Litchfield with a Certificate of Retirement, his retirement plaque, and a congratulatory letter. He was also feted with a celebratory cake.
