Medina Journal-Register — YATES — A Yates man died Wednesday morning as a result of injuries sustained in a one-car accident.
State Police said Paul Lauricella, 24, was traveling west on East Yates Center Road around 5:30 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions. According to the report, Lauricella’s car crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane of traffic and off the south shoulder of the roadway before finally striking a tree on the driver’s side.
Emergency crews transported Lauricella to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester by Mercy Flight, where he was later pronounced dead.
Trooper Victor Morales, public information officer for State Police in Batavia, said it is believed Lauricella was on his way to work, and that there was no signs of alcohol or drugs to have caused the crash.
