RIDGEWAY — The town Planning Board is reviewing a proposal by Dollar General to build a store on the northeast corner of Routes 104 and 63.
A public hearing has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 5 at Ridgeway Town Hall regarding the proposal.
In the meantime, according to board member Tim Elliott, Dollar General is in the process of submitting the proper paperwork to acquire a special use permit for the lot on which its new building will sit. Currently, a deteriorating barn occupies the space.
"They're looking to start construction in April and finish in September or October," Elliott said. The new business would likely bring seven or eight new jobs to the area, he added.
The Orleans County Planning Board has the company's special use permit request on its Thursday meeting agenda.
