Medina Journal-Register — Braving a winter storm warning, the Buffalo Tango Orkestra made the trek to Medina on Saturday to kick off the Orleans Renaissance Group's 2014 Concert Trio Series.
The ensemble performed at the Masonic Lodge on West Center Street for an enthusiastic crowd that enjoyed an evening of Argentinian tango music.
"They were absolutely fabulous," said Skip Draper, president of ORG. "It was a beautiful evening despite the bad weather."
ORG would like to have the group back again in the near future for a milonga or tango dinner-dance event, Draper added.
The next concert in the "trio" series will be Feb. 22, when the Fredonia Trombone Choir performs. Part of the renowned SUNY Fredonia School of Music, the ensemble of two dozen trombones will perform everything from familiar pop standards to classical themes. Their performance is described as a “majestic sound that will take your breath away.”
