Medina Journal-Register — ALBION — County Court proceedings have begun against former Medina Fire Department official Jeffrey Elsenheimer.
Elsenheimer was indicted Monday on 29 counts, including multiple third-degree sex abuse, endangerment of a child, third-degree criminal sex act, promoting a sexual performance by a child, possession of a performance of a sexual act by a child charges. He was also indicted for official misconduct.
Elsenheimer, whose posted bail was transferred from Ridgeway to Orleans County Monday, plead not guilty to all charges. He is scheduled to appear March 4 in County Court.
He was charged in August with multiple offenses after a complaint from a sixteen-year-old who alleged that he had engaged in sexual contact the then 31-year-old.
In a deposition to the Town of Ridgeway Court in August, the teen said he engaged in a consensual sex act with Elsenheimer, who he knew through a familial connection.
Additional charges were levied following the execution of a search warrant on Elsenheimer’s cell phone.
District Attorney Joe Cardone said the delay between the initial criminal proceedings and Monday indictments was due to failed attempts to negotiate with Elsenheimer.
Elsenheimer’s resignation from the Medina Fire Department was accepted by the village board in October.
