Mustangs earn high marks

Medina Journal-Register — The Medina Mustang Marching Band performed in competition for the fifth time this season in Orchard Park on Saturday. It was a small show, featuring only six total bands.

Medina was the only SS1 band to compete, and it earned a score of 83.85. The band performs one more time, on Oct. 19 at Webster, before heading to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on Oct. 27.

The Medina Band Boosters are arranging a Spectator Bus to the Dome for anyone who wants to attend the competition but does not want to drive. More information is available on the school website at medinacsd.org. Under the departments tab find “Music & Medina Mustang Marching Band.” From there click on the link for “Spectator Bus Info,” which includes times, price and a reservation form to reserve a seat. Seats must be reserved and paid for by Oct. 18. There is only one bus and if there are not a minimum of 45 riders the bus will be canceled and money refunded.

The Dome schedule is also on the school website and the SS1 class starts at 6 p.m., with Medina set to go on at 7:05. For marching band enthusiasts the entire competition starts with SS3 at 8 a.m. and proceeds through all six classes (54 bands).
