Medina Journal-Register — Orleans County is the site for several events this Saturday and Sunday.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, the Medina Lions Club is holding an Indoor Scarecrow Fest at the YMCA.
Those who attend can make life-size scarecrows stuffed with straw for $8. There will also be a rock climbing wall, an obstacle course, a bounce house, and a Lions Club Food Tent.
Later in the day, at 6 p.m., The Pillars in Albion is the place for the Autumn Fantasy Fashion Show. The show features 1864, Magnolia Pearl, and Chalet clothing lines, which can all be found at The Flower Barn and 1864 Boutique in Gasport. Some of the proceeds from the show will go to the Ronald McDonald House at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
The Autumn Fantasy Fashion Show will treat its guests to a complimentary gift, a runway show down the grand staircase in the ballroom at The Pillars, a champagne and hors d’ oeuvres reception, door prizes, and shopping. Saturday’s events conclude with Mark Twain Live, a show hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Albion. Mike Randall will portray the American icon during a show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 apiece and are available at Bindings Bookstore, Blooms Flower Shop, and First Presbyterian Church. Finally, on Sunday, the Orleans Chamber of Commerce is hosting a reception at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Holley to mark the conclusion of its first ever Palettes of Orleans Program.
