to sixth straight win

Medina Journal-Register — MIDDLEPORT - Scoring touchdowns on all five first half possessions, Barker//Roy-Hart rolled past Lackawanna 42-25 Wednesday to close out the season on a six game winning streak.

Quarterback Jacob Haight and running back Brad Bobbitt each scored two touchdowns and running backs Brett Cole and Judd Jamieson both scored one to lead Barker/Roy-Hart’s balanced attack. Bobbitt finished with 150 yards rushing and Cole 130 yards.

“We’ve been awesome on offense the last six games,” Barker/RoyHart head coach Bill Bruning said. “We’ve been playing very well and I really like the way our seniors have responded. It’s a great way to end the season.”

Barker/Roy-Hart jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead just 2:09 into the game as Cole scored on a 26 yard run and then tacked on the two point conversion carry. A 17 yard run by Bobbitt highlighted the drive.

The advantage doubled to 16-0 five minutes later as Haight scored on a seven yard run and then passed to Jamieson for the two-point conversion. Cole had a big 33 yard run to key that march.

Lackawanna did cut the deficit to 16-6 at the outset of the second quarter on a a six yard touchdown pass from Dylan Gregoire to Shaquille Brooks but the Steelers wold get no closer.

Barker/Roy-Hart got that one right back on a 26 yard touchdown run by Bobbitt three minutes later to make it 22-6. Cole had runs of 19 and 10 yards to spark the drive.

Bobbitt scored again on a 10 yard run with 2:44 to go in the quarter and Haight added the extra point kick to up the lead to 29-6.

The Barker/Roy-Hart advantage soared to 36-6 with three seconds to go as Jamieson recovered a teammates fumble in the endzone and Haight again added the extra point kick. A big 33 yard pass completion from Haight to Cole highlighted the drive.

Lackawanna though capped off the high scoring half with a 52 yard touchdown pass from Javon Smith to Kevin Trala as time expired.

However, Barker/Roy-Hart again got that one right back on the first drive of the third quarter as Haight scored on a four yard run on fourth down to make it 42-13. A 15 yard run by Cole was the big play of the drive.

Lackawanna closed out the scoring with a pair of touchdown passes from Gregoire to Trala covering distances of 42 and 68 yards.
