Medina Journal-Register — LYNDONVILLE — A four run fourth inning uprising earned Lyndonville a 6-2 victory over Wheatland-Chili Friday in a lightning shortened Genesee Region League baseball game.
The Lady Tigers also scored a weather shortened softball victory Friday romping past Northstar 20-2 in a non league contest.
Austin Bane banged out a two-run single and Chris Scroger and Brandon Schoolcraft both had RBI singles during Lyndonville’s decisive fourth inning rally against W-C which also included hits by Eddie Silversmith and Justin Edwards.
Silversmith, Edwards and Austin Buckland each finished with two hits. Silversmith also made two sparkling defensive plays at first base.
Ty Hrovat picked up the win on the mound allowing four hits and striking out six.
Lyndonville improves to 6-5 in the league and 9-5 overall.
Lyndonville 20, Northstar 2
Alyssa Houseman hit a grand slam home run and Katie Albone had a solo homer to highlight the victory for Lyndonville which improves to 10-6 overall.
Keri Stillinger also had a double on the day for Lyndonville which broke the game open early with a marathon 12 run second inning.
Maddy Boyle hurled a one hitter for the Lady Tigers striking out seven.
Lyndonville 21, Wheatland-Chili 2
LYNDONVILLE — Keeping the momentum, Lyndonville romped to a 21-2 victory over Wheatland-Chili Saturday in a G-R softball game.
Boyle had two-run homer, Alyssa Houseman three hits, including a pair of doubles, and Chelsea Silversmith two hits to spark the Lady Tigers attack.
Rebekah Hoffee was the winning pitcher allowing one one hit and striking out six.
Lyndonville improves to 11-6 overall.
