Medina netters cap 12-0 title season

Medina Journal-Register — Medina capped off a perfect 12-0 Niagara-Orleans tennis league championship season Tuesday with a 5-1/2 victory over visiting Wilson.

Chris Horgan, Ben Howell and Kristian Snyder all scored straight set victories in singles action for Medina.

The Mustangs also got wins from the doubles teams of Arsalan Musfafa - Troy Fidanza and Sibtain Nudtafa - Nate Pace.

“It’s a great way to finish up a strong league title season,” said Medina coach Chris Horgan.

Wilson winds up at 7-5.

Albion 5, Newfane 1/2

NEWFANE - Albion likewise completed a 7-5 N-O season by downing Newfane 5-1./2.

Joyce LaLonde, Alan Quintana and Humza Quinn all scored singles wins for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also got doubles victories by the duos of Andrew Burroughs - Dyer Benjovesky and Ben Kirby - Kyler McQuillan.

Newfane winds up at 1-11.

Barker 4.5, Roy-Hart 1

Barker completed a 9-3 N-O campaign by downing Roy-Hart 4.5-1.

Wins by Sean Benoit at first singles and Zach Smolinsky at third singles led the way for Barker.

Brad Bobbitt won at second singles for Roy-Hart which finishess at 3-9.

Holley 5, Pembroke 0

Holley blanked Pembroke 5-0 Tuesday to improve to 10-1 in Genesee Region League competition.

Singles wins by the trio of Corey Winter, Seth DeLuca and Will Barniak led the way for Holley.

The Hawks also got wins by the doubles teams of Justin Webster - Nathan Payne and Ian Penders - Brady Smith.

Albion 4, Roy-Hart 1.5

ALBION - Moving back above the .500 mark at 6-5, Albion bested Roy-Hart 4-1.5 Monday in a N-O match.

Wins by LaLonde at first singles and Quinn at third singles led the way for Albion which also captured the first two doubles matches on victories by the duos of Burroughs - Dyer Benjovesky and Monica Benjovesky - Josh Metzlers.

Roy-Hart’s Bobbitt won at second singles.
