Newfane claims N-O meet title

Medina Journal-Register — Newfane dominated the Niagara-Orleans League wrestling meet Saturday in Medina, claiming six champions as it accumulated 291 team points. Akron finished a distant second with 206.

Barker/Royalton-Hartland finished third, while Albion and Medina took fourth and fifth, respectively.

For the Rams, lightweights Brent Bachman (113) and Cameron Swick (120) took home titles.

Albion’s Kollin Reynolds (195) took home the only championship for the Purple Eagles.

The host Mustangs won their lone title of the meet at 106 thanks to Brennan Callara. Four of his teammates finished in the top three.

Albion landed five top three finishes along with Reynolds, and B/R-H featured six grapplers in the top three along with the team’s two champs.
