All-N-O girls soccer team announced

Roy-Hart's Lindke, Albion's Schmitt earn first-team honors

Roy-Hart sophomore forward/striker Emma Lindke started the fall soccer season strong and kept up the pace the whole way through, finishing the year with 19 goals and adding nine assists.

The stellar statistics paid off, as Lindke was named to the All-Niagara-Orleans League first team earlier this month, after the Lady Rams completed a solid N-O season under the guidance of coach Michelle Jennings. Roy-Hart earned the No. 12 seed in the Class B sectional playoffs and upset No. 5 da Vinci in the pre-quarterfinal round, before succumbing to local powerhouse Akron in the quarterfinals.

Albion senior defender Kelsey Schmitt joined Lindke in earning first-team honors. Schmitt anchored the Lady Purple Eagles' back line in a strong campaign that included an upset victory over Amherst in the Class B pre-quarterfinals, under the guidance of veteran coach Bruce Blanchard.

Medina star midfielder Taylor Miller, a senior, earned all-league second-team honors after a season that included 15 goals and five assists. Miller spearheaded the Lady Mustang attack all season long, in a 2013 campaign that ended in an overtime loss to No. 1 seed City Honors in the Class B pre-quarterfinal round.

Albion also placed four girls on the second team: senior forward Abby Squicciarini (15 goals and seven assists), sophomore forward Mariah Elsenheimer (17 goals and 10 assists), senior midfielder Kayla Doyle and senior defender Arianna Smith.

Roy-Hart junior midfielder Taylor Fry and junior defender Hannah Rausch earned second-team honors as well, while Lady Rams senior Melissa Zakrzewski, sophomore Amber Villella and junior Ashley Bower earned N-O honorable mention.

Albion senior Kendall Piccirilli, junior Mandi Covis and junior Monica Benjovski earned honorable mention honors, as well.

Barker sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Williams earned second-team honors, while the Lady Raiders' Haley Richbart and Kelsey Mattoon took honorable mention.
