Medina to host Cleve Hill Saturday

Medina Journal-Register — No. 3 seed Medina will host No. 6 Cleveland Hill at 2 p.m. Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B-2 girls basketball playoffs.

Medina brings a 12-6 record into the contest while Cleve Hill, which advanced with a 64-36 opening round win over JFK Tuesday, is at 9-10.

Leading the Medina attack is Alba Perez who scored 297 points (16.5 average) and grabbed off 295 rebounds during the regular season. Tanisha Robinson has scored 183 points (10.7 ave.), and has 69 assists and 63 steals and Abby Button has pulled down 127 rebounds.

Also in Class B-2 Saturday, top seeded Niagara-Orleans League champion Wilson (17-1) will host No. 8 league rival Akron (6-11). Akron advanced to the quarterfinals by nipping Roy-Hart 29-28 Tuesday.

In Class C-1 Saturday, No. 6 Barker will visit No. 3 Tapestry of Buffalo.

In boys Section VI playoff action, No. 7 Roy-Hart will visit No. 2 Cleveland Hill and No. 5 Akron will travel to No. 4 Fredonia at 7 this evening in a Class B-2 quarterfinal contests.

Roy-Hart defeated Buffalo Arts 58-38 and Akron downed Gowanda 61-32 in the pre-quarters on Wednesday.

In Class C-1 No. 6 Barker visits No. 3 Holland at 7 this evening.
