Spartans roll past Mustangs

Medina Journal-Register — All of the scoring came in the first two innings as Starpoint blanked Medina 9-0 in a rainy non league baseball game at chilly Vets Park Wednesday.

Benefitting from three hits and a costly error in each inning, Starpoint scored four quick runs in the first and tacked on five more in the second.

Austin Speaker, who started on the mound for Starpoint, and Alex O’Donnell each had two hits to lead the Spartans offense.

Sam Crowley had the lone hit and Jason Hellwig pitched three scoreless innings for Medina which is slated to host Lockport at 4:30 this afternoon in another non league contest.
