Medina, Albionto host key tests

Medina Journal-Register — Working to stay in the thick of the title race, Medina and Albion will both host key Niagara-Orleans girls basketball games Friday against the league’s co-leaders.

Medina, which is two games off the pace at 3-2, hosts unbeaten (5-0) Wilson at 6:30 p.m. while Albion, which is just one game back at 4-1, entertains undefeated Newfane (5-0) at 7 p.m.

Friday’s other N-O girls contests will have Roy-Hart (1-4) at Barker (2-3) an Akron (0-5) at CSAT (0-5).

Alba Perez leads the Medina offense with a 15 point per game average.

Wilson is sparked by the duo of Jamie Curry and Emily Lasher, who are both averaging 14 points per outing.

Kelsee Soule is averaging 11, Justice Nauden nine and Eboni Taylor eight to pace Albion.

N-O boys action also resumes Friday evening with Medina at Wilson, Albion at Newfane, Barker at Roy-Hart  and undefeated CSAT at Akron  in the key contest.

CSAT at 5-0 currently holds a one game lead over Akron and Roy-Hart, both at 4-1 with Newfane two games off the pace at 3-2. Rounding out the standings, Barker is at 2-3, Albion and Wilson at 1-4 and Medina at 0-5.
