Medina U15, U19 booters post wins

Medina Journal-Register — Jumping out to a commanding 3-0 half-time advantage, Medina went on to defeat Pavilion 2 4-0 at Vets Park Saturday to maintain a share of first place in the girls U15 Division of the Genesee Youth Soccer League.

Hannah Adams scored all three first half goals for Medina which remains deadlocked for first place at 8-1 with Warsaw.

Martha Gardner scored Medina’s lone second had goal as Jamie Boyce earned the shutout in the nets.

Medina next visits Warsaw Tuesday in a key contest for the division lead.

U19 Division

Stallions 5, Mustangs 2

Erupting for four quick goals in the first 20 minutes, the Medina Stallions went on to defeat the rival Medina Mustangs 5-2 Saturday in a GYSL U19 Division contest at Vets Park.

Thomas Goetze and Drew McMurray each scored two goals and Brodie Fenton one to spearhead the attack for the Stallions which improve to 7-2.

Steven Anderson and Cooper Hardiman scored the goals for the Mustangs which slips to 3-6-1.

The Stallions next host division leading Albion (7-0-1) in a key contest at 6:30 this evening at Vets Park.

U16 Division

Albion 3, Medina 2

Max Owens and Collin Dunn each scored a goal for Medina in the narrow U16 Division loss to Albion Saturday at Vets Park.

U14 Division

Pembroke 3, Medina 1

DaRon Bellan scored the lone goal for Medina in a 3-1 loss to Pembroke Saturday in a U14 Division game at Vets Park.
