KofC posts shut-out win

Medina Journal-Register — A big first inning scoring burst ignited Knights of Columbus to a 15-0 victory over Hot Boys this past week in Medina Men’s Softball League Thursday Division action.

Don Baker hurled a four hit shutout to lead the way for KofC which improves to 7-1.

KofC took charge at the outset erupting for six quick runs in the first inning highlighted by a two-run single by Cole Bronson, an RBI single by Connor Baker and a two run error.

Keeping the momentum, KofC tacked on five more runs in the fourth keyed by a three-run triple by Scott Allis. A single by Connor Baker and a sacrifice by Ryan Newton plated the other runs capping off the uprising which was ignited by singles by Bronson, Don Baker and Mark Morse.

Bronson, Connor Baker, Morse and Donnell Bennett each finished with three hits. Allis, Don Baker and Joe Rosenbeck each chipped in with two. Rosenbeck’s hits included a triple.
