Medina Journal-Register — Putting together a huge late inning scoring uprising, Medina bested host Cambria 10-2 Monday to improve to 8-1-1 in Midget B action.
Trailing 2-0 on five scattered hits, Medina caught fire in the top of the sixth inning exploding for seven runs on seven hits to take command.
Two walks and a single by Josh Scroger quickly loaded the bases to set up the opportunity. Brad McPherson followed up with a two run single to pull Medina even. Justin Morgan, Kyle Herman, Tyler Ames, Gage Masters and Dominic DiCureia all tacked on run producing singles to vault Medina out to a commanding 7-2 lead.
Medina then put a lock on the victory with three more runs in the top of the seventh on a two-run single by Brett Riemer and an error.
DiCureia finished with a total of three hits as Brett Riemer, Masters and Matt Riemer each added two.
Matt Riemer also picked up the win on the mound blanking Cambria on no hits with seven strikeouts over the final three innings.
Quinten Adkins hurled the first four innings scattering six hits and striking out five.
