Seahorses score sweep over H-A-C

Medina Journal-Register — Improving to 2-0, Medina swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting H-A-C Thursday in a non league swim meet.

The Seahorses won the boys meet 109-61 and the girls competition 98-70.

A sweep of the three relays highlighted the boys victory. Bryer Boyce, Mason Roberts, Chris Horgan and Steven Hann teamed up to win the 200 medley. Boyce, Hann, Ben Austin and Troy Fidanza took the 200 free while Boyce, Austin, Austin Brown and Austin Heil combined to take the 400 free.

Brown also won the 100 butterfly, Hann the 100 freestyle, Roberts the 100 backstroke and Horgan the 100 breaststroke.

Max Wright was a double winner for the Medina girls squad taking the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle. Emma Gardner added a win in the 50 free.

Wright and Gardner also teamed up with Shannon Allen and Emily Austin to win the 400 free relay.

Albion split with visiting Alexander winning the girls meet 57-37 and losing the boys competition 58-36.

Elizabeth Jurs doubled in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly and Brooke Wilson in the 50 and 100 freestyle events to spark the Albion girls squad.

Newfane also posted a sweep over visiting Notre Dame taking the boys meet 95-45 and the girls 123-37.

Brad Berner was a double winner for the Newfane boys in the 200 and 500 freestyle events.

The Newfane girls had a trio of double winners as Kiki Dy took the 200 and 500 free, Lil Masters the 50 and 100 free and Allie DeBias the individual medley and 100 breaststroke.

Barker earned a split with visiting Attica. The Raiders won the boys meet 112-50 but lost the girls contest 98-71.

Zach Shaft doubled in the 100 and 200 freestyle events and Brian Alt in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke to lead the Barker boys squad.

Ruth Gendrue was a double winner for the Barker girls in the individual medley and 500 freestyle.
