Medina Journal-Register — Coming from behind twice, Medina posted a 46-34 victory over visiting Kendall Thursday in the non league season opening wrestling match.
Trailing 28-10, Medina rallied into a 28-28 tie on consecutive second period pins by Ben Howell (152), Rob Wendt (160) and Nate Hodgins (170).
Kendall regained the lead for what proved to be the last time at 34-28 on a second period pin by Mark Washington.
However, the Mustangs again answered the challenge to quickly retie the math at 34-34 on a first period pin by Charles Beach.
The Mustangs final 12 points then came on forfeit wins by Kevin Eick (220) and Matt Montesanti (285).
Medina also got a first period pin by Brennen Callara (106) to open the match and a major decision win by Nick Erway (132).
Kendall built up the 28-10 lead on pins by Alex Bierworth (120), Brayde Moyer (126) and Nick Bilyk (145) along with a major decision win by Avery Iqbal (113).
Medina next visits Barker on Wednesday to open the Niagara-Orleans League season.
