Hawks 'A' squadwins tourney title

Medina Journal-Register — HOLLEY - Compiling a perfect 5-0 record, the host Hawks Varsity ‘A’ squad took top honors at the annual Holley Team Tournament Saturday.

Holley ‘A’ defeated Canisius 75-12, Eastridge 81-6, Holley ‘B’ 90-0, Honeoye Falls-Lima 75-6 and Akron 72-18.

Andrew Flanagan (106), Nick Shenck (113), Alan White (120), Dan Flanagan (126), Sam Beadle (138), Issac Miller (145), Nick Winkley (182), Mike Silvis (220) and Lucas Silvis (285) all posted 5-0 records on the day for Holley ‘A’. Martin Beadle (132), Caleb Deip (160) and Tyler Hoag (170) were all 4-1.

Winkley and Mike Silvis shared the tourney’s MVP honor.

Akron went 4-1 on the tourney defeating Holley “B’ 75-12, Canisius 53-36, Honeoye Falls-Lima 44-24 and Eastridge 54-30. Adrian Ross, Garrett Schultz and Johnny Fiebelkron all went 5-0 on the day and represented the Tigers on the All-Tournament team.

Holley next visits Alexander at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a key Genesee Region League match.

Akron next hots Barker at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League match.

Albion places 4th

at Depew Tourney

DEPEW - Albion posted a 3-2 record to place fourth at the 10 team Depew Tournament Saturday.

Albion defeated Williamsville East 43-29, Depew 52-36 and Barker 45-34 but lost to West Seneca East 46-37 an Starpoint 58-22.

Greg Blank went 5-0 on the day for Albion while Sam Remley and Aaron Burnside were both 4-1.

Albion next visits Medina at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a N-O match.
