Medina Midget B posts win over R-H

Medina Journal-Register — Scoring in every inning, front-running Medina downed visiting Roy-Hart II 17-4 Monday to remain unbeaten at 6-0-1 in Midget B League competition.

Quinten Adkins had four hits and Justin Morgan, Josh Scroger, Brett Riemer, Kyle Herman, Gage Masters and Brad McPherson two apiece to lead Medina’s balanced attack. Adkins, Scroger and Herman all had doubles among their hits.

On the mound, Adkins and Matt Ames shared the work combining for a two hitter with nine strikeouts.

Medina scored two quick runs in the first inning on hits by Adkins and Scroger and a sacrifice by Matt Riemer.

Doubles by Adkins and Scroger then keyed a big five run second inning uprising which also included singles by Brett Riemer, Herman and McPherson.

Medina also tallied five times in the fifth frame as McPherson, Adkins, Morgan and Tyler Ames all had hits.

Hits by Herman, Masters and Morgan then helped to plate two runs in the sixth to cap off the win.

Midget A

Cambria 7, Medina 5

A fast start and a strong finish earned Cambria a 7-5 victory over host Medina Tuesday in a Midget A game.

Cambria scored three quick runs in the first inning and later tallied four times in the top of the seventh to erase a 5-3 deficit and claim the win.

Caleb Lang had two doubles for Medina which also got two hits each from Ty Hrovat, Matt Riemer and Adam Hoot.

Medina built up the 5-3 lead after scoring twice in the third in a single by Riemer and double by Lang and then twice in the fourth on a single by Hoot, a fielders choice play, two walks and an error.
