Stallions post key win over Roy-Hart

Medina Journal-Register — Avenging a one goal loss the week before, the Medina Stallions blanked Roy-Hart 3-0 Monday at Vets Park in a Genesee Youth Soccer League U19 Division contest.

Taking over sole possession of second place, the Stallions rebounded from a 2-1 loss to Roy-Hart the week before to improve to 6-2. The loss drops Roy-Hart into third place at 5-3.

The Stallions grabbed a 1-0 half-time lead on a goal by Adam Morgan.

Putting a lock on the win, the Stallions then tallied twice in the second half. A shot by Matt Zacher helped to set up the first goal and Nick Schroeder scored the second on a corner.

Jimmy White earned the shut out in goal for the Stallions.

Mustangs win

On Sunday, the Medina Mustangs picked up a forfeit win over visiting Pavilion to go to 3-4-1 on the season.

Albion romps

Division leading Albion maintained a game and a half lead by rolling past Attica 10-0 Monday to go to 6-0-1.

Jon Poole had the natural hat-trick with three straight goals to spearhead the Albion attack.

Jackson Hamilton added two goals as Zach Stedman, Fran Rosario, Moises Garza, Chris Reed and Josue Serafin each chipped in with one.

Reed and Poole shared in earning the shut-out in goal.

Albion next hosts the Medina Mustangs at 6:30 this evening.

U16 Division

Medina 4, Pavilion 0

Brian Anderson scored three goals and Collin Dunn one to lead Medina past host Pavilion 4-0 Monday.

Austin Owens earned the shut-out in goal.

Girls U15 Division

Maintaining a share of first place, Medina defeated visiting Pavilion 1 3-1 Tuesday in a U15 contest.

Martha Gardner scored two goals and Emma Gardner one for Medina which improves to 7-1 and remain deadlocked with Warsaw for the division lead.
