Raiders edge Tiger matmen

Medina Journal-Register — LYNDONVILLE - Despite taking four of the five bouts that were decided on the mat, Lyndonville dropped a narrow 42-36 decision to Barker Tuesday in a non league wrestling match.

A six to two advantage in forfeit wins, good for a 24 point difference, keyed the victory for Barker.

Tony Recco (106), Dustin Hinkley (120), Devon Joy (145) and Alex Murphy (160) all registered pins for Lyndonville.

Lukas Hanssen (285) earned a pin for Barker.

Barker also got forfeit wins at 113, 152, 170, 182, 195 and 220 as did Lyndonville at 126 and 132. Thee were double forfeits at 99 and 138.

Albion 46, LeRoy 30

ALBION - Aaron Burnside (132), Ed Narburgh (138) and Tre Hart (160) all registered first period pins and Sam Remley (126) had a third period fall to spark Albion to a 46-30 victory over LeRoy Tuesday in a non league match.

Aaron Mulroy (182) also had a major decision win for Albion which improves to 2-1.

The Purple Eagles next host Kendall at 6 p.m. Thursday in another non league match.

Holley 82, Brighton 3

HOLLEY - Brandon Morrill (99), Alan White (120), Dan Flanghan (126), Sam Beadle (138), Caleb Diep (170), Tyler Hoag (182), Nick Winkley (195) and Mike Silvis (220) all registered pins to spark Holley to the 82-3 non league victory over Brighton Tuesday.

Flanaghan, Winkley and Silvis all scored sub minute falls.

The Hawks next host the Holley Team Tornament on Saturday.

The tourney begins at 10 a.m. with Holley ‘A’, Holley ‘B’ , Canisius, Akron, Honeyoe Falls-Lina and Eastridge all in the field.
