Medina downs R-H;Wilson tops Albion

Medina Journal-Register — Making it three wins in a row, Medina downed visiting Roy-Hart 60-32 Tuesday in a Niagara-Orleans League girls basketball game.

Alba Perez had a quadruple double to spark Medina with 24 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals.

Tanisha Robinson added 14 points, Abby Button 10 rebounds and Taylor Miller seven steals for Medina which mproves to 6-3.

Emma Lindke netted 11 for an undermanned Roy-Hart squad which played without several starters, including season long scoring leader Olivia Kelkenberg, as the Lady Rams slip to 3-6. Stephanie Riegle and Brianna Walker both added eight, including a pair of threes, for the Lady Rams.

Perez erupted for 14 points in the first quarter to spark Medina out to a 20-11 lead.

The Mustangs stretched the the advantage to 39-20 at the half as Perez tallied 11 in the second period.

Wilson 37, Albion 29

WILSON - Jamie Curry had 13 points, eight steals, six rebounds and six assists and Kate Placek 10 rebounds and seven points to lead front-running (9-0) Wilson past Albion (5-4) 37-29.

Kelee Soule scored 11, Eboni Taylor nine and Justice Nauden seven for Albion which led 11-10 after one period.

Wilson rallied into leads of 21-16 at the half and 29-19 at the three-quarter mark.

Barker 36, Akron 33

BARKER — Trailing 29-17, Barker (3-6) exploded for a big 19-4 fourth quarter scoring burst to rally past Akron (1-8) 36-33.

Caitlyn Mason scored six of her 12 points and Julia Atwater six of her eight to lead Barker’s fourth quarter uprising.

Gina Henley scored 15 for Akron which led 23-10 at the half.

Newfane 65, CSAT 54

Newfane (8-1) erupted for 23 points in both the first and third quarter in route to  65-54 win over CSAT (1-8).

Brooke Horning scored 18 to lead Newfane.
