Medina Journal-Register — Teams which are seeded as low as 11 or 12 rarely get home games for the sectionals playoffs but both Albion and Medina have achieved that feat.
Albion, which is seeded No. 12, will host No. 13 Bennett of Buffalo at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a Section VI Class B-1 game. The winner will visit No. 5 Newfane (14-6) on Wednesday. Albion is 2-16 and Bennett 1-11. Newfane defeated Albion twice during the N-O campaign by scores of 61-39 and 54-44.
Medina, which is seeded No. 14, will host a very familiar foe in No. 14 Wilson in a Class B-2 opener also at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The victor will travel to No. 6 Southwestern (12-6) on Wednesday.
Medina swept a pair of Niagara-Orleans League meetings with Wilson this season by scores of 58-44 and 60-47 with the later victory coming just a week ago. Dan Brown led the Mustangs offense in those two victories with 20 and 16 points respectively as Lonnie Taylor added 12 and 11. The Mustangs went 3-11 in N-O action and 6-12 overall during the regular season while the Lakemen went 1-13 and 1-17 overall.
Also in Class B-2, No. 5 Roy-Hart (12-6) will host No. 10 Buffalo Arts (4-14) and No. 5 Akron (12-6) will entertain the winner of the No. 13 Gowanda vs. No. 12 JFK game, both at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
In Class C-1, No. 6 Barker (10-8) will host No. 11 da Vinci of Buffalo (0-15) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
