Arthur C. Brooks, Sr.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Arthur C. Brooks, Sr., 88, formerly of Rochester, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, while under Hospice care at his daughter's home. Born in the Town of Barre on November 13, 1925, the eldest son of Arthur and Elsie (Kingdollar) Brooks.

He served in the US Navy during World War II and worked for Harrison Radiator, TJ Lipton and Rochester Products. Art was an avid camper for 40+ years and following retirement escaped winter in Davenport, FL. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose Club and worked as a guide at the Sampson Naval Museum on Seneca Lake, where he received Naval training.

Mr. Brooks was predeceased by wife, Romayne; his brother, Donald; and his son, Arthur C Brooks, Jr. He is survived by his youngest brother, Lawrence (Tommie) Brooks of Kerrville, TX; four daughters, Gale (Francis) Balunsat of Corpus Christi, TX, Deborah (Joseph) DelleFave of Rochester, Laurie (Richard) Krenzer of Macedon and Barbara (Timothy) Smith of Byron; nine grandchildren, Justin Balunsat of Hoboken, NJ, Kinsley Balunsat of Macedon, Shannon (Richie) Burke of Lima, Anthony (Lisette) DelleFave of Rochester, Danielle DelleFave of Rochester, Kasi (Robert) Marshall of Marion, Kyle (Jenny) Krenzer of Shortsville, Rachel (Daniel) Postupack of Gainesville, FL, Shawna Smith (Geoffrey Tuttle)   of Byron; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held for Mr. Brooks in May of 2014, when he makes his final return to Rochester for internment at Maplewood Cemetery, Henrietta. Memorials may be made in his name to the Disabled Veterans (DAV) at 3725 Alexandria Pike, Clod Springs, KY 41076, or online at
