John P. Klotzbach, 85, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 30, 1927 in Westfield, PA, he was the son of the late John P. and Viola (VanBenscoten) Klotzbach. John grew up in Westfield, PA, then settled in Basom, NY and then Albion, NY. On July 3, 1948, he married the former Mary VanDruff. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in White Sand, NM. On returning home he finished Bible School and was a broadcaster for Christian Radio in Schenectady, then worked at General-Electric and lastly at Delco in Rochester, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Oak Orchard Assembly of God, serving as Secretary for 17 years and as Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially his Harley.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; three sons, John P. Klotzbach of Albion, Dayton (Sandy) Klotzbach of Elkton, VA, Darrel (Vicky) Klotzbach of Medina; six grandsons, three granddaughters, three great-grandsons, four great- granddaughters and one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, August 30, 2013, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church, 12111 Ridge Rd., Medina, NY,14103, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM, with the Pastor Rev. Daniel Thurber officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Albion Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made in John's name to the Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church.
