Duane R. Holbrook, age 72, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was born on April 22, 1940 to Earl and Olive (Bonter) Holbrook. He graduated from Albion High School in 1959 and attended Brockport State College. There he met his future wife, Judith (nee) Walder, whom he married in 1962.
After residing in Davis, CA for a short while, they returned to New York and settled in Medina where he was an independent carpet installer for many years. For the remainder of his working career, Duane worked in a variety of managerial positions in the food industry. During his retirement he could be found at H&R Block, on the golf course, or playing cards with his friends. Mr. Holbrook was involved in many organizations, including Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, TOPA, Jr. Miss, Masons, and Lions Club. Duane was very dedicated to his faith, his community and most of all, his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years and his children, Patricia (Todd) Wolfanger, Michael (Amy) Holbrook, Kathleen (Michael) Parada; and daughter-in-law, Gloryanne (Peter Titterington) Holbrook. He was the proud grandfather to Zachary, Tyler, Mitchell, Kyle, Cody, Joshua, Derek, Jacob, Ryan, Matthew, Emily, Samantha, and Hannah. He is also survived by his brother, E. Ronald Holbrook of Haines City, FL; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Walter) Campbell and Kathleen Walder; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Mr. Holbrook was predeceased by his son, Christopher Holbrook.
Friends may call Friday 3-6 at Cooper Funeral Home 215 West Center Street, Medina. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 on Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Medina celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Duane was an organ and tissue donor to further develop research of pulmonary fibrosis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
