Albert "Ironman" Bloom

MEDINA — Albert "Ironman" Bloom, 75, of Medina, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2013, at home with his loving family at his side.

Born on August 4, 1937 in Fort Valley, GA, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Anna Mae (McCory) Bloom.

On April 4, 1959, he married the former Aldora Riley, together raising four beautiful girls. He worked as a machine operator for the railroad, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Brotherly Love and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping people in need.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Aldora; four daughters, Shirley (James) Crews of Albion; Gladys (Kenny) Johnson; Yvonne (Nathan) Wilson; Tammy (William) Wilder, all of Medina; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Leon; two sisters, Joyce and Velma and a host of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, from 12 Noon-1 PM, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Boxwood Cemetery.
