Charles N. Bacon

MEDINA — Mr. Charles N. Bacon, of Medina, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, February 14, 2014, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bacon was born in Medina, September 10, 1933, a son of the late George and Hazel (Wells) Bacon. A US Army veteran, he served in the Infantry in Korea. He was employed by B.R. DeWitt, as a truck driver, for 33 years, retiring in 1997. He received an award for driving over 1,000,000 miles accident free.

Mr. Bacon resided at his family home on Horan Road where he enjoyed raising White Faced Cows.  He loved his Ford Tractor, John Deere Lawnmowers,  and his Big Red Barn. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Chuck will be remembered for his smile, big blue eyes, kindness and generosity.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Williams) Bacon, whom he married on Sept. 7, 2010; step-children, Cindy Ishmael, David Marciszewski, Gary (Melissa) Marciszewski, Bonniesue (James) Baldwin, Steven (Heather) Marciszewski; seven grandchildren, Brittany Marciszewski, Amber Ishmael, Jonathan, Eric, Alexis Marciszewski, Hannah and Joshua Baldwin; step-children, Rod Sheasley, Tammy Burns and Tracey Sheasley and families; his sister, Martha Foster; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was            predeceased by his brothers, Robert Harold, LaVerne, George R. Jr., and David Bacon and sisters, Alice Riches and Mary Albone.

Friends may call on Thursday from (2-4, 7-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 AM. His brother-in-law, Chaplain Roy Williams, will officiate. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. A luncheon will be served immediately following the services at the Knowlesville Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in the spring at West Ridgeway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305; or Alzheimer's Assn. of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380.
