Helen L. Linderman, 70, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence of Albion, after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 13, 1942 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Mabel Winch.
She grew up in Middleport and graduated from Royhart High School in 1960. She married John Linderman on November 9, 1984 and together they made their home in Medina. Helen drove school bus for the Ridge Road Express for 15 years, retiring in 2007. She tended bar at the Lyndonville and Walsh Hotels and enjoyed playing Bingo and cards.
Helen is survived by her five children, Laurie (Peter) Hobson, of TN, Michael Davis of Gasport, NY, Cindy (Robert) Bartholomew of Hinsdale, NY, Patricia (Brian) Benedict of Youngstown, NY, and Susan Conert of Lyndonville, NY; nine grandchildren, Sean, Jason, Jamie, Ashleigh, Becky, Michael, Samantha, Paige, Emily; a great-granddaughter, Zoey; one brother, Leslie (Nancy) Winch of Lyndonville, NY; and by a niece and a nephew. Also survived by three close friends, Chris Castor of Lyndonville, Michael Humphrey of Medina, and Guy Chiarolanza of Medina. She is predeceased by her husband, John Linderman.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY, from 4:00-8:00 PM. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County, PO Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
