Mr. Henry P. "Hondo 138" Meyer, of Medina, passed away on Friday evening, August 9, 2013, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Meyer was born in Medina, October 17, 1928, a son of the late Ernest and Gladys (Fredericks) Meyer. He worked on the family farm and for Vosler's Lumber. In 1969, he joined the Orleans County Sheriff's Department. Hank started the Motorcycle Patrol and served on it for 15 years. He also participated in the Orleans County Mounted Patrol. He retired in 1991, as a Lieutenant, following 22 years of service.
Survivors include his daughter, Gina (Anthony) Scinta of Las Vegas, NV, Mary (Butch) Mottley of Westminster, MD, Susan (Wayne) Brabon of Middleport, and Bonita Love of Simpsonville, SC; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia (David) Riviere of Medina and Bernice Young of Daytona, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Irene Daball, Ernestine Wetzel and Shirley Stachewicz; and a brother, Irving Meyer.
Friends may call on Wednesday (2-4, 7-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel Thurber, pastor of Oak Orchard Assembly of God Church, will officiate at his funeral service on Thursday at 11AM, at the funeral home, and interment will be in Bates Road Cemetery.
