Mr. Samuel J. Santillo, Jr., of Medina, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Santillo was born in Fort Benning, GA, May 7, 1952, the son of the late Samuel J. and Dorothy (Lewandowski) Santillo, Sr. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1970, he married the former Patricia Kaminski on May 6, 1972. A lifelong resident of the area, Sam was employed by Fisher-Price Toys, as a foreman, for 27 years until the factory closed. He worked for Delphi for five years and Chapin International, Inc., as a leadman, until 2011. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and drag racing.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two sons, Samuel J. Santillo III and Christopher (Julie Smith) Santillo; his sister, Ann Marie (Edwin) Kanerva of Severn, MD; sister-in-law, Maria (Steve Ruppel) Adams; his uncles, Frank (Mary) Lewandowski and William (Colleen) Lewandowski; his niece, Jennifer Battaglia; four nephews, Scott Kanerva, Tim, Brian and Josh Adams.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County, POB 489, Albion, NY 14411-0489. Arrangements were completed by the Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
