Solomon S. "Sol" Greenstein

ALBION — Solomon S. “Sol” Greenstein, 75, of Albion, NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Batavia Veterans Nursing Home. Born on September 17, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Greenstein.

Sol grew up in Brooklyn and in 1953 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. On returning home in 1957, he was employed with the U.S. Post Office in Rochester, NY, retiring in 2005. He was a 25-year member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of New York City. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #35 of Albion and member of the Community Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife, Anita (Harriger) Greenstein; four daughters, Anita (Sam) Ashley of Marshall, TX, Ashley (Jose “Cas”) Casanova of Albion, Angel Ebert of Marshall, TX, and Audra Heslor of Albion; also survived by seven grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Greenstein of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Community Fellowship Church, 3144 Johnson Creek Rd., Middleport, NY from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, with the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Pastor Roy D. Harriger will officiate and Military Honors will be accorded after the service at the church. Memorials may be made in Sol’s name to Community Fellowship Church, 3144 Johnson Creek Rd., Middleport, NY 14105.
