MEDINA — Mrs. Lucille "Blondie" Rice, of Medina, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Rice was born in Medina, August 2, 1929, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Marcinowski) Kujawa. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1947, she married Leonard J. "Ham" Rice on November 18, 1950. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. An active          parishioner, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society, served on the church Bereavement Committee and volunteered with the Medina Association of Churches Food Pantry. She was employed by Fisher Price Toys, as a bookkeeper, for 17 years.

Mrs. Rice enjoyed knitting and reading; was generous and compassionate and will be           remembered as a devoted wife, mother and "Busia" to her four grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Peggy (Robert) Blanchet of Woodbridge, VA, Sue (Robert)  Cunningham of Clinton, CT, and Robert J. Rice of Medina; Busia to Jamie and Jason Blanchet, Victoria Rice and Annie Cunningham; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on March 31, 2009; her brother, Eugene Kujawa in 1975 and her sister, Joan Kujawa in 2001.

 Friends may call on Friday, September 27, 2013 (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 28 at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church at 10AM. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County or Knights/Kaderli Memorial Fund.
