EAGLE HARBOR —
Clifford L. Stinson, of Eagle Harbor, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at his home. Mr. Stinson was born in Medina, March 2, 1923, a son of the late Maynard and Ella (Rorick) Stinson.
A graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1942, he served in the US Army Air Corps from 1943-46. On August 25, 1944, he married the former Thelma M. Emery and they resided in the area all of their lives. Mr. Stinson was a farmer and operated Otter Creek Farms for 28 years, retiring in 1984. He loved the outdoors; enjoyed farming, snowmobiling, woodworking and especially his Model A Ford.
Survivors include three sons, Royce Stinson of Waterport, Roger (Linda) Stinson of Albion and Robin (Jill) Stinson of Albion; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a nephew, Dean Harris; and a niece, Sandy Wakefield. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma, on January 27, 2007; his daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Stinson, on May 8, 2002; and his sister, Monica Harris.
Friends may call on Thursday (4-7 PM) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina, where his funeral service will be held at 7 PM following calling hours. Military honors will be accorded on Friday at 11 AM at Otter Creek Cemetery by members of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assn. or American Diabetes Assn.
